All the benefits of diesel.
None of the compromise.
With class-leading torque up to 1,052 Nm and specific fuel consumption as low as 260 g/kWh, the V8 delivers exceptional range and operational endurance. At 2,600 RPM, it hits peak torque, giving operators smooth, controlled power delivery for long shifts and heavy workloads.
LOWER EMISSIONS, HIGHER STANDARDS
The Cox V8 is the only high-powered diesel outboard to achieve BSO-II certification, alongside EPA Tier 3, IMO II, and RCD II. Emitting just 4.6 g/kWh of combined hydrocarbons and NOx, it outperforms other diesel propulsion systems on environmental impact without compromising on power.
BUILT TO LAST
Designed from the ground up as a marine-first engine, the V8 is stress-tested to withstand punishing offshore conditions. Its architecture supports a service life well beyond traditional petrol engines and is backed by up to 1,500-hour commercial warranties.
ENGINEERD TO GO THE DISTANCE
SUSTAINABLY MANUFACTURED
The V8 is assembled at Cox Marine’s carbon-neutral UK facility, with key components made from recycled marine-grade aluminium. It’s the cleaner propulsion choice for operators focused on sustainable practices, compliance, and cost savings.
SAFETY FIRST
Diesel is a less flammable fuel and therefore safer to work with in hazardous environments. Robust design and quick shift capability leads to safe operation in fierce conditions. The COX Diesel is designed to be safe in any environment.
GREAT RANGE
Due to significantly lower fuel consumption than a comparable modern outboard the COX Diesel offers the market an unprecedented range. Enabling users to go further and refilling from other vessels or marine based platform.

RETROFIT COMPATIBILITY
Although the first of its kind, as the most powerful diesel outboard brought to the market, the COX300 has been developed to be compatible with existing industry standards – making it as easy to install on a wide range of vessels as any gasoline outboard.
